La vita che volevi is a story of bonds, friendship, and discovery, which tells of the happiness we believe we want (planned, orderly, simple) but also of the happiness that surprises us and shakes up our lives. This is what happens to Gloria, the protagonist, and then resonates with all the characters in the story.
The series, created and written by Ivan Cotroneo and by Monica Rametta s directed by Cotroneo himself. The production is handled by Massimo Del Frate, Head of Drama per Banijay Studios Italy.
The series, in six episodes, it's set between Lecce, the Salento region, and Naples.
Gloria, the star of LA VITA CHE VOLEVI, is convinced she has found happiness in Lecce, where she has founded a small tourist agency and found love with Ernesto but, one day, her life is turned upside down by the arrival of Marina, her friend from her university days in Naples, before Gloria began her transition. Marina brings with her Andrea and Arianna, the children she had from two different relationships, and is pregnant with a third, whose father is Pietro, a young man with a passionate and perhaps even dangerous nature. Gloria would prefer not to reconnect with Marina, she reminds her of a part of her life she would like to forget. However, Marina is hiding many secrets, and soon Sergio, Arianna's father, will arrive in Lecce. He is an upright man who doesn't like Gloria from the start. For Gloria, it's time to come to terms with 'the life she wanted', her past and her future, to find out that sometimes happiness comes in unexpected forms and that love is the only force that can make life worth living.
